Speakerphone through the radio trick...

Did you know that if you have an FM modulator(or regular headphones) hooked up to your phone and someone calls you can just answer it and the audio comes out the car radio while the phone picks up your voice as normal speakerphone would?

Stumbled across this today in the car and I love it. Even resumes the last song when you hang up!

My car has a Tape deck and a CD changer, I use one of those old school tapes with a cord and headphone jack and I get my calls through the speakers using that. If you change the Voice settings to read your texts over headphones too you can hear all your texts and respond with just your voice, never touching your phone.

Yeah, I did that a few times with my old Tilt 2. The phone can recognize the difference between a normal stereo plug and one with a mic connection. It should work if you use the aux/line-in port on your radio too. Quality isn't the best and you can get feedback sometimes but it is possible.

I always use the aux/line-in port to play Zune through my car speakers. I can listen to my text messages, but I've never tried replying back via voice. But I suppose if the phone recognizes my command to read the text, then it's proof enough that the mic works with this method.

I use the aux port on my CD player plugged into my HD7. I've done this for years with other phones too. Speakerphone isn't that loud and I can't use bluetooth most of the time cause of my job. So I stick with plugging it up and making my calls that way. It's pretty awesome.

Yup. I do the same (though with a cassette-->3.5mm TRS adaptor). Calls and Music are fine, however, Bing Navigate has a teeny voice.

Also did the same with my Aria and Atrix preceeding my Focus. *So* much better than buying overpriced Bluetooth speakers that have no battery life and shrill, volumeless audio. Those work fine below highway speeds, though (or maybe I just have a noisey car).
