Speech Recognition Turns off when I start speaking

Recently started using Surface Pro 4. Initially, speech recognition was working very well, but within an hour of starting to use it, it now turns off (blue mic button turns back to gray) as soon as I start speaking.

Microphone level correct in audio utility. Cortana works fine - including speech recognition
