Status bar crashes

Lately, when using the Mail app on my Lumia 950XL, sometimes the status bar at the top of the screen disappears (the part that shows signal strength, the time, notification icons, etc.). I can get it back if i swipe down to see the action center (and oddly, it'll vibrate when done in this scenario). Has anyone else seen this behavior? I don't know if its its unique to Mail or even caused by Mail, just that when it's happened to me, from what I can recall, that's the app i've been using. Let me know if anyone has any similar experiences.
