Yeah, I feel bad about the phone especially for the fact I'm a strong proponent for windows phone amongst my mates. Everyone of them who owns a windows phone (apart from one who owns the L800) bought it do to my strong argument for the OS. And it diminishes my credibility when I make the argument that windows phone has a reliable upgrade support for its devices but well I guess most understand that this is a first generation windows smartphone.

I had the 900, which was the same in terms of only getting WP7.8. I ended up buying a 920 from someone in the WPCentral Marketplace forum. Now I'm out of contract so I can use the 920 with WP8.1 until new devices I like are available for my carrier.

The 800 is really old by today's smartphone standards, it's not strange that it doesn't get updated anymore. You don't expect a galaxy s1 or an iphone 3gs to get all the latest updates either.

Yeah, thats the fair point I usually make and regardless Nokia (windowsphone) has done a great job keeping their devices (including low-end) up to date.

I still have mine, but don't use it. It still is one of the most balanced and aesthetically beautiful devices out there (imo of course)

Lumia 800 was good device, I liked it very much. But it was broken... Bought Lumia 830 week ago!
