Surface Pen not working after latest update

Updated yesterday on Version 1709 for Windows insiders.

When I click my pen top, it does what it is supposed to (brings up my Windows Ink Workspace. When I double click it does a screenshot and opens OneNote. That part is perfectly fine.

But it will not actually WRITE or respond when using the pen itself I have the 2nd version of the pen not the two button or the latest...

This is extremely frustrating. I cannot annotate anything currently.

I removed the pen from SB and synced it back up and still not dice. Battery is fine as I said pressing the cap works fine. Just does not respond to touch.

Any ideas?

Still a problem? Or is it working now? Usually deleting and reinstalling the device in the BT settings panel will do the trick, or even a complete shutdown and reboot. If it is still a problem, open PowerShell or a simple Command window with administrative privileges, type sfc /scannow at the prompt, and hit return. When that wraps up 5-10 minutes later, restart the Book and see if the pen works.

I have had both pen and BT keyboard failures on different Surface devices after some fast ring releases. The problems usually go away if you given them enough opportunities to do so.

Maybe change the battery on your pen

I had this a while back, changed the battery, problem popped up again (also pinch to zoom wasn't working)

I just did Settings>Update>Troubleshoot>Hardware and Devices

Windows found something, said to restart and it is now fixed! Yay!

I've had a similar problem on occasion. I've solved it by going into device manager and deleting the two touchscreen devices shown and then restarting. This reinstalls the devices and the pen & touch work fine after that.

I did this fix and it got my surface pen to start writing! yay! but the eraser still wont work. any suggestions?
