Hey guys! I have a Surface Pro 3 (i5 128GB) for almost 2 years and my battery started rapidly loosing capacity (mWh) in March 2016.
Screenshot from February 2016 https://1drv.ms/i/s!Aqc6Y3QdNzHPpL4r65mCFB6GeRB7CA (about 10hrs of battery life)

In middle of June i had only 26,000mWh and battery life was about 5hrs. But then... Capacity of battery started gaining again..
Now I have 39,000 mWh, and the battery life is again about 9hrs. WTF ?? How is that even possible ? Here are screenshots from last 2 days. https://1drv.ms/f/s!Aqc6Y3QdNzHPpZR8B6ObEUhKzZeMlg https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aqc6Y3QdNzHPpZR_Iv8Alp06uSmgEA

Now after some days I have 42,583 mWh on 602 cycles :)

How to FIX:
For Two weeks use your surface only on charger. If you run your surface on battery, don't drain the battery under 85-90%! After two weeks you should see increase of your battery capacity.
That's all :)

I'll hope you will be lucky as me, and you get your normal battery capacity back :)
Good luck!!

Have anybody tried this method ? If yes, write here if it works or not  You should see first improvements after 2 weeks.

Didn't work for me. After nearly a month in my Surface dock without any on-battery time, I pulled the dock power briefly and I had no improvement in battery capacity. In fact, the capacity dropped from 5,480 mWh at the start of that month to 403 mWh after the brief on-battery time.

That capacity drop means my battery degradation is happening while on AC! I've plotted the battery capacities listed in the batteryreport and there has been very nearly a straight line decline starting the week of May 8. Interestingly enough, there were two prior declines in capacity that more or less restored themselves to almost maximum capacity over time. These degradations were on a much smaller scale than the present one.
