Just saw this morning that some CNN commentators were caught using their Surface Pros as iPad kickstands. I know the saying, any press is good press. But, this just seems like another marketing blunder. It seems like MS is not doing enough preparation for these events. Get the devices to them earlier and set up everything the have set up on their iPad. Train them how to use it for pete's sake! It's an awesome device! Heck, I would name my next kid, Surface, if they gave me one!

Definitely embarrassing but not completely illogical. Those CNN commentators have likely been using an iPad for months/years and are well suited to doing everything through them. So even with training, it would still be quite unsettling to have another product shoved in your face (on one of the biggest ratings nights of the year, no less) and told to deal with it. You can't be that surprised that a bunch of non-techies reached for "old faithful" as opposed to something else.

Ok this is really embarrassing. Microsoft is a sponsor of CNN.. What are the legal rights that Microsoft has here? Can they sue or something? This is a public relations disaster both with CNN and the NFL. I do like the iPad I can't lie. But my SP3 is such a superior device hands down. It's just not "sexy" like a Mac right now in our culture. I guarantee that if Apple came out with a great hybrid like this it would be all over the country (in part because they'd actually market it good). What can we do?

Again this is the simple fact the iPad has been around longer and they were used to using it
Still Microsoft should get their money back and some heads should ROLL.
