Back to basics question :D lol

One of the main things I like about my RT is the 'instant on'. - I am well aware this was one of the main features of RT...

but do the Pro's have an instant-on feature? maybe one where it's in a light sleep?
Reason I ask is that my RT must be on and off a dozen times a day, I might switch it on for less than a minute to check my ebay sales or emails etc.
Other times it can be on for a couple of hours, slowly warming my hands as I hold it and make it earn its money :D

So, for those times when I don't want to wait for it to 'boot up', will the Pro 3 (or 2 or 1?!) have a fast wake up option?

My laptop wakes up from sleep in 2 seconds. I suppose Surface Pro acts in similar fashion. I don't believe it can do "instant" but I would love to be wrong because I'm buying it as soon as it starts selling.

According to Paul Thurrott sand anandtech, it does have connected standby. I am super happy about that fact.

Yeah, it's been a long time coming for Windows to support Connected Standby. I'm not sure how much the apps (Mail, Calendar, Facebook, and notifications) would need to be updated to take advantage of it. For example, on your phone, if you have an appointment coming up, the screen will turn on and/or play a sound to remind you. I'm hoping that the Win8's Calendar app would do that. Otherwise, would have to wait for an update....

They confirmed that the pro 3 will support connected standby in their AMA they did on reddit earlier. (they also mentioned that the sp2 was not designed for connected standby)
