Sync!!!??!

Why is it so hard to sync music with these windows phone?? Something so basic is so difficult. I have over 500 songs - sync it to add some more and it gets rid of all of them because they are "protected". Which they are not. Had windows phones for many years are I am starting to get very frustrated. Any suggestions??

Did you get those songs under Zune pass previously using the "download" instead of buy option? If so then they are protected.
