No hotspot at the present time. Maybe after blue update. It all depends on t-mobile.

No he wants a hotspot. Example phone as a modem to tablet. Verizon is cool with this. I don't know about t-mobile.

I'm considering purchasing the 925 to replace a blackberry. With the BB I can tether with my laptop. Whatever device I choose it needs to have hotspot or tethering capabilities for business purposes.

You can also USB tether with "Tether-x". Free/paid app in the store. Might help you.

It depends on your t-mobile plan. I have t-mobile, I use the hotspot all the time. I connect my Kindle Fire to it that way. It works well.
