Text Message Notification Tone

I have an AT&T Lumia 640.
I am still on 8.1

I have had a "knock" for my notification sound forever.

Today for some reason it started to use the default chime instead. I did not switch it. It just began using that tone.

I can't get it to use any other sound. Even if I choose another tone, I get the chime.

I've tried turning it off. I've tried a soft reset and I've tried removing the battery. Nothing has worked.

Any tips?

can you upgrade the phone to windows 10? You'll get a whole lot more features
