text tone issue!!

i have set a number of my contacts to custom text tones and they work fine as long as i leave the general messaging app tone as default. but if i change it then all my contacts with the custom tones start using that tone only. even if i go check the contact and see that the tone is set to the custom one. has any one else come across this? if so has anyone figured out a fix for this issue?

This is a pretty common issue on Win10... I converted my mp3 to different formats and it worked eventually

What formats did you convert them too? Did you convert all your text tones or just specific tones?

by what, do mean "eventually"? It did not fix the issue immediately? Did you have to wait?

I've tried Benito's solution. Converted all from mp3 to wma and still did not work. Would be nice for Benito to clarify...
