The detach sound is horrific

Honestly mine kind of sounds like what I imagine bones breaking sounds like. Is this normal? Otherwise my Book is 90% flawless at this point, just waiting on a fix for my ~7 hour battery life.

Pretty much. It just unclipping itself from the screen. The sound lasts literally a second.

Given how incredibly solid the connection between the tablet and keyboard portion is, I would not mind if it sounded like chalkboard screech...

My detach sound varies from really loud to very quiet. Sometimes I think it depends on the angle the screen is at when detached. If its leaning back more, the sound is louder than when it's closer to vertical. Just an observation.

Microsoft said the detach sound is artificial and produced through the speakers. The actual detach is completely soundless.

Why does it sound louder if the screen is leaning and there is pressure on the connections. If I position the screen straight perpendicular to the keyboard the release sound is much softer.

May have something to do with the position of the speakers and how the audio is reflected when the screen is angled vs perpendicular.
