The Microsoft Office tile has disappeared from my Lumia 550

I cannot delete an office file from my Lumia 550 because the Office tile has disappeard. How can I get it back.

I'm assuming you're talking about Microsoft Word, which is one of the many programs inside Office. It is probably still installed on your phone.

In order to re-pin it, simply swipe from the Start Screen to the All Apps screen, find Office in the list, hold down on it, and select Pin to Start.
