The Stanley Parable on the Surface Pro 4

Hey guys I picked up The Stanley Parable on Steam (it's an awesome game) and I've been wanting to play it on my Core M3 Surface Pro 4. I figure even the Core m3 is strong enough but I've been encountering an issue. The game loads just fine and starts playing the main screen sounds but doesn't ever reach the main screen. I think the game might think I'm playing a pirated version. I've tried reinstalling but it still does it.
