If only… but people today are far too used to taking any sort of abuse from corporations to even protest, let alone doing anything that takes even a little of discomfort getting used to. Some will even defend them!

The Apple crowd is the loudest, and defending the tantrum Apple is making instead of simply allowing IPAs to be sideloaded here in the EU is just corporate shilling with no benefit, but they're far from being not alone in this.
Basically any service (and by extension the company running it) that's embarked into the path of enshittification somehow gets troves of people defending the undefendable, IMHO
