There is a way to install gdr2 on lumia 1020

You'd have to try and find a firmware image with the right version and that will work with your region/carrier, and then work out how to install it.

Then you'll find that your phone may not work as expected, the Store might not work, your may not get further updates.

I don't think that any small benefit in getting GDR2 is worth the hassle in trying to install it.
