Things to do before installing windows 10 mobile insider preview?

hi I'm trying to download windows 10 mobile preview on my lumia 525. My phone is running windows phone 8.1 can anybody tell me things to do before installing windows 10 mobile preview on my lumia 525? like resetting the device,etc. also does i have to remove the sim and sd card before installing preview?
