Tiny Death Star- Upgraded a level, now have negative buxs

When upgrading a level, you're usually rewarded with 1 "imperial buxs". This time I chose the "specific level option (light saber craft) for the cost of 1 buxs, and immediately ended up with a huuuuge negative number (-79). Is this a glitch or is this supposed to happen? I don't feel like restarting, or paying for buxs.
