Not sure if that is what you're after.

If he is looking to flash stock rom with anything else, yes... You will be disappointed. You can re-flash the ROM but with the ROM that was designed for your Phone. If you phone is a RM-940, you can't flash it with a RM-939 or RM-937 ROM.

Well, if it's designed for your specific phone and region, you can do it. But if you try to do it from another region it may not work. At least that's my experience with an AT&T 1520 Lumia. Maybe it's because is locked.

It would be good if someone remembered us from HTC with Coming wp 8.1 gave us a tool to flash a stock rom wp 8.1via computer.

You can do it from Windows 8 with the Nokia tool for retail software.
