I have an Inspiron 3567 with Windows 10 version 22H2 installed. I am using a logitech wireless usb mouse. I just noticed the other day that when I disconnect the mouse the touchpad will not enable as I had it setup to do. I have checked drivers and updated as necessary and have deleted touchpad from Device Manager and restarted laptop. There are no buttons in Control Panel or Settings to change touchpad behavior. At one time it was working properly and do not know when this problem first occurred since I always use the mouse.

Is it still visible under Device Manager after deleting it?

Does the touchpad work with the mouse connected?

If it were me, I'd try to see if booting into Windows or Ubuntu installation media (without installing anything) to see if the trackpad works there because if it doesn't then it might need to be reseated physically.

(or booting into the BIOS, if it has a mouse-friendly mode - actually it's worth checking to see if it's been disabled in the BIOS.)
