Travelling light without pc. What is best portable memory (no wifi for cloud)

Hi, I am travelling quite light for three weeks into areas with no easy wifi or cloud access. I am not taking my PC. I bought my 1020 so I could have phone and great photos. What is the best solution for downloading photos from phone to portable memory as a backup or to clear the memory if I get carried away and take too many photos? Any compact solutions? Thanks wizards.

generally, ipad is the best alternative, as it gives u support to download photos into it (with an external adapter) and allows u to view them along with huge applicability of it's own, from photo editing to movies, from games to slideshows.
Other than that, u can go for any tablet (n number of android tablets available in the market), if u r not gonna use it daily after coming back. but if u r looking for a long term gadget, i would suggest go for iPad or a premium quality tablet from other companies such as samsung, toshiba, etc.

Can I just ask what external adapter, hadn't realised I could transfer photos to the IPad from my 1020 ( without using the internet).

Thank you for the Ipad link. There's even adapter for a SD card, I had no idea these existed.
