turning data on doesn't work immediately any more...

short story: sometimes when i turn data on and then try to surf immediately, it doesn't work.

long story: i've had my 520 for about 6 months now, and when i first got it, i could turn data on, go to ie, and surf right away. lately, for the last few weeks, sometimes i get 403 forbidden errors because the internet access isn't enabled yet. so i'll sit there closing and re-opening ie, and it might take several minutes before internet connectivity is established. sometimes i turn data off and on several times. eventually internet works.

anybody have a similar problem?

That will be your service provider. Just yesterday had a similar problem in that Tethering with our unlimited data plan, came up with a message, "Tethering is not allowed on this device, call your provider."

Did that and was told they are having problems with the local data transmissions. By about 7:30pm last night it was back to tethering OK.

They were probably letting the NSA insert some tracking software.

i've got black on there. maybe it is the service provider, since this delay doesn't occur every single time.
