Type cover touchpad problems at start up

Hi there,

I've had my surface 3 for quite a while now it's always had this issue but it seems to be getting more annoying (or I'm becoming less tolerant)

When I turn my surface on, the touchpad doesn't work, I need to unattach the keyboard and reattach and then it works. The contacts are clean and Windows update is upto date. I haven't changed any settings so It's set to default under settings.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have had that problem and the same solution worked. It hasn't happened for a while, though.

Yeah that happens to me too occasionally. So far it has been infrequent enough where I haven't done anything about it, other than grumble to myself. I doubt there's anything wrong with your specific device; I consider this kind of thing to be part of the general Surface flakiness.

This happens on my Surface 3 as well, not much you can do about it though until Microsoft release firmware that fixes the issue.

Found out a work mate also having the same issue. It's not a huge issue but damn it's beginning to become such a pain in the butt!
