Hi Dan,
As a fervent listener of the podcast and a follower of this site on a multiple-times-a-day-basis I haven't come upon an answer to one of the questions that I now have for a certain time.
I'm looking into buying a new portable system but also want to keep gaming. I know that razor has an ultrabook + eGPU but that is something I just can't afford and the laptop also looks a little bit out of place in an office environment.
Now I was wondering whether you guys could make a guide for ultrabooks in combination with eGPU's just as you did with the 'Laptop buyers guide'.
That'd be awesome!

Great website, cool information and great podcast by the way.
Cheers,
Mark (following you guys from Belgium)

I'm not too sure of the options for gaming laptops, but if you're dead set against a desktop (the best gaming solution) then you could improve your range of options by considering an external video card box. That way you could have a great business style laptop for the office then plug in your full desktop level video card when you get home for your games.

Thanks, that could indeed be a solution but if I'm not mistaken there will be problems with the cable and the port on the laptop as this will cause a bottleneck. And as I'm not a pro in these things ...
There needs to be compatibility between the eGPU, the cable and the laptopport...

That's all I know. But how it all works...

Hmm. It might be wise, then, to post a question on the AMD or Nvidia forums to get a recommendation on what cards work best with what external boxes and what cables work well. You need to find someone who's actually done this so you can get an idea of the speeds you can expect. Reviews for the external boxes available online may give you a good clue as well.
