Undo typing errors from keyboard

While typing, I deleted*a paragraph of text and don't want to type it again. How can I recover it in Messages, email and any apps without an Undo function?

ctrl+Z will undo any action that you have done.

Windows phone sucks.

Have you seen how incredible the latest iOS 10 messaging app is? I'm using it on my four year old iPhone 5 and it makes the windows phone messaging look pathetic.
