Typically, how much free space is required for these updates? I've asked this question once or twice before within specific update threads, but as far as I'm aware it wasn't answered- either overlooked or the answer is not known?
I've got a 640 (unlocked AT&T) and have not been able to update beyond 15025 for a few weeks now. I typically maintain > 1 GB empty space which has been ample for all the updates over the first 12 months of ownership. Today I'm at 6.27 of 7.28 GB used (usually it is under 6.0, don't know where the 300 MB recently came from!). The two main culprits are:
System and reserve: 4.07 GB
Apps and games: 2.07 GB
I try to keep only MS oem apps on the device, while Maps, music and 3rd party apps are on the SD card. I guess I can move some "essential" apps to the SD Card to free up space acouple hundred MB, and then move them back later but I hate to be doing this every update. Perhaps its time to consider a 650 or 950 phone?
Any thoughts?
