over the last few days I've had 3 sets of updates on my surface 2. an absolute boat load of them. anyone notice it? its downloading the 3rd set now. just wondered if its could be something to do with the "supposed september update"

I'm not seeing anything particularly impressive- mostly optional 8.1 updates, none are large though. And the usual WD updates. It might be a pre curser to something but who knows!

Can I ask a quick favour for those with a Surface 2? Can you check if you can access Lancaster University | Ranked in the UK Top 10 via the modern IE? It appears to be the ONLY web address I have ever come across that just won't open for me at all- its a university, and I've just started working there as it happens. However, even at home and before I even started there, this website has never opened- I just get the generic 'page cannot be displayed' blank screen. That's the main browser I use (rarely 'desktop' IE) and its really frustrating. It opens fine in the desktop IE on the surface, just never on the modern version. Could it be an https (secure) restriction? If so, its the first time I've ever had a problem with it. Even with all add-ons disabled there's still a problem... any luck or advice out there RT users?

nikkk101 works ok on my surface 2 in modern ie. Not sure what the problem could be on your side

nikkk101, is it possible that you are using "Tracking Protection Lists" for IE that might be interfering? The use of TPL is a way of implementing adblock for IE.

Cheers guys, WJM, I am indeed using tpl lists-and have been for the majority of the time I've had the tablet from launch. infact it was some tips on improving the RT experience and performance I found on WPC here that suggested it- never had any issue with any browsing. Only recently have I had some issues with embedded video playback (redbull content) but all other things have been spot on. The university website has genuinely been the only site I've ever had that would fail to load. As it happens I've set up a VPN to access secure work content which allows the web address to run fine but I'm still stumped as to why the public access like any other site is any different lol

Wondered if anyone else noticed a significant jump in the load time on the 'improved' lock screen? Its noticeably snappier when entering the pin and waking to getting to the last page/program etc. For me previously, there was always lag at that moment but no longer..
