Upgrade firmware only?

WDRT shows updated firmware available for my phone while OS version is older then phone version.

Is there any way to upgrade firmware without wiping OS and data?

Generally no. You either have to wait for the update or be okay with wiping your data.

I have the same firmware version on top and doesn't show me the new one on the bottom. Maybe we're getting a new OTA firmware update for 950/XL soon?

That is what WDRT is all about. It upgrades your device to the latest firmware, but not the latest software. This is because WDRT is intended to be used by those people whose devices were updated to the latest software, and that latest software bricked their device, so since they can't manually rollback to the previous, older software, WDRT comes in.

I assume you know what bricked means.
