Hello,

I bought movies from the MS store, and play them on my laptop. It has an hdmi cable so I hooked it up to my LG 55" TV screen.

Is there a way to use my Android phone to act as a remote on my W10 laptop, to stop, pause rewind etc from my laptop. Or use the LG remote?

Thoughts?

Anyone do something similar?

Thanks,

Other than something clunky such as Teamviewer to remote control the laptop with your phone, I don't think so. There's also Gmote but I think it only works for media files in folders you specify. It doesn't appear to have app integration to hook into MS Movies & TV or others.

Two easier options:
1) Do you have an Xbox (One or Series, any model)? If yes, use that, it works great, and while I prefer to use the controller as the remote, the Xbox app on your phone can be used, too.
2) Movies Anywhere - It depends which movies you have but at least some are probably eligible. If you have a Smart TV that's a 2017 model or newer, then LG has a Movies Anywhere app. It's pretty good and obviously, you can use the LG remote with it.
