Hmmm...
If the question is Encore vs. Surface, I would say the Encore.
I own a Surface and am continually frustrated by things I can't do (Windows RT).
Of course, if 8" is just too small for you...
But, I would take any x86 Windows 8 tablet over any ARM Windows 8 tablet.

Thanks. Got an encore a few days ago. Impressed but also having a few teething troubles with it. RT would have been simpler if nothing else.

Thanks for the review. Never had any such issues. Just resolved all of mine and its now working great. Had problems with office installation and connecting it to my 1020 but all is now functioning perfectly.
