Verbal responses from Cortana?

I wonder if I am doing something wrong or missed a setting somewhere.

When I verbally tell Cortana to remind me of something, she will pop-up a notice on the screen, but won't tell it to me verbally even though she read it to me when I created the reminder to verify it. Did I miss something or is this the way she is supposed to work?

In addition, when I have a meeting, is there a way for her to say "John, you have a meeting." I'm not concerned about the details of the meeting. I realize that's probably out of her skills right now, but it would be cool if she could announce verbally these things.
*I guess I could replace the current alert sound for meeting to a custom one of her saying that. That seems like a workaround though.

This is one of my complaints too. I set my alarm that she created for me...it's just the standard notification chime...no verbal. I've also set some reminders through her and they too, just chime.
