I seen this Lumia 929 more and more . Is it coming to Verizon is it still this Friday like Phone Arena is listing? Any Verizon Employees out their with some info.

Friday would be the 8th which is the date I had heard somewhere, can't remember. But that'd be sweet!

I heard that it might be announced officially on Friday via press release. I think it is likely to drop next week or the week after. Sometimes they do just drop phones in the store, but not usually higher end ones. I think an availability announcement is likely Friday, but these things are always influx right up until the end. Verizon has to have a certain amount of supply in the pipeline usually before they announce. They don't want to hype a phone only to not have people be able to pick it up.

Huge news. I hope what you're hearing is correct. Are phones typically available in the MSFT store at the same time they're made available at corporate VZW stores?

I don't know on the Microsoft Store stuff. I'd guess availability will be close, though VZW probably will get the phones ahead of others.

As for the 929, dates are always tentative until announced. Verizon has to not only have enough inventory for launch, but all internal tests have to be completed. They put all upcoming phone models through rigorous network tests across the country and have hurdles for a phone to hit before they'll sell it. They've had more than one Android phone delayed due to some fixes that were needed. They especially check for the ability of the LTE radio to switch seamlessly back and forth between EVDO and LTE. Early LTE devices had a problem with this, so they are always super cautious. Part of Verizon's network efficiency and satisfaction isn't just about having the big network, but also making sure customers have good access to it without problems on their phones. It's why VZW isn't really interested in having a cutting edge phone. To them, cutting edge means bugs will emerge that will cause customers stress. They prefer AT&T and their competition deal with that. They want reliability over being the first with something.

I haven't heard if testing is done yet or not. I know the goal has long been a pre-Thanksgiving launch and a big push for Christmas. Microsoft is backing a large campaign for all the carriers with Windows Phone. Might also be some special bundles with the 2520. Not sure at the moment if they'll launch more than the 929 immediately.

Good to hear from you again, MacPhisto!!! Been a little while since I had seen you post.

I was looking at the Microsoft Store online and I wanted to see what they did have available for Verizon WP's. It seems the only phone they have listed on the website is the Samsung Odyssey. No HTC 8x, NL928, or NL822. I was wondering what the deal is with that? Shop Verizon | Microsoft Store

Has it ever been there? Cause its available here Beautifully Designed, Uniquely Yours | Windows Phone (United States) which is where it takes you when u wanna shop for phones from the windows marketplace.

I wish that thing would come in yellow. Heck, anything other than black or white would be a nice change for Verizon customers.

Yellow would be awesome!

Verizon doesn't normally carry phones of various colors because they often have a more mature business class customer, or so they would have you think. They will normally offer a different color of a phone only after it has proven it can sell. That is also the same reason why they are still large supporters of blackberry and is the only carrier that has shown support for the new blackberry model that is supposed to come out.

Verizon also seems to think everyone likes their logo all over every phone they sell too.

I'm with you on that. I feel like I should get paid ad fee's for marketing their phones.
