Vibrating Ring

I have the Lumia 920 and I have it configured to both ring and vibrate. I recently noticed, however, that when a call comes in, the phone vibrates only for a couple of seconds or so, and then it rings only.

Is this normal? The short vibrate alert means that in noisy environments I sometimes miss incoming calls.

This is how WP8 works... Perfectly normal, and this is one of the things Nokia and Microsoft should address promptly in the next update.

I see that this is post is old but still the phone rings and vibrates alternately. Lumia 830. Is there some setting to change that to Vibrate and Ring simultaneously.
