Video PLayers? Where are the Video Players.

Hello All,

This post stems from one small learning I learned recently. Everyone uses a device in their own way. SO, if I think I will use a device EXACTLY the same way as my wife, I think that is downright stupid. But that's exactly what happened.

So while my respect for MS increases by the day (ok I lied, by the minute), the missus is pretty pissed at the moment. SO I seek answers (and refuge) here.

There are a few video players in the market which are, shall I say, expensive.

I thought one can play a video by default and for free? There are a couple of .mkv and a couple of .avi. files. BOTH DON'T work. The Music+Video section is blank when it comes to videos.

Any one has any bright idea of how to see these in the phone? It's very much on the mem card at the moment.

All she wants is to see the movies.

You'll need to see if any if the players in the store can play those formats.

I Don't Think You can Realy make good Video Player App for WP8 Before MS Gives an API for Accessing the Video Library...

Where Exactly on the SD Card the videos are? Which Exact Format they are? DivX? XviD? ....

With WP8 i had no Problems at all with any avi or MP4 Files which seems the Most common Today...

can u tel ek me how did u play those files? I am trying since a very long time...the videos are just not seen in the Music+Video tab...the files are mkv and avi...no divX...what player do u use..?

MKV is not a supported format by the phone. There is an app that claim to play MKV, I can't remember the name, sorry, but the videos must be on the SD card (only on phones with SD Card support.

The missus is using a 720. Now here is some interesting lead..every time the phone starts, the phone shows an error...SD card Problem or something..could this be because of that..?

If you've tried using WP8's music playback, you shouldn't be surprised at how bad video playback is as well. WP8 is extremely lacking in basic capabilities, including music and video playback. If you wanted something that worked for those purposes, you should have bought an iPhone or Nexus device.

Wow! Such a convenient answer. ..thanks but no thanks. ..With Android's lack of security and iOS's dead UI, I would much rather stick to WP..I Love WP...andyes, it does have its down side..just like any other OS.

I find owning a WP device is the only thing that justifies a tablet purchase hahaha, use the tablet for the 5% that I need video playback or intensive gaming and that's it.
