Vine is here. Why is wpc always last to report?

It's not in the Store yet. At least not for me. That's probably the case for most people right now.

The verge, wm power user and engadget already reported that its arriving today. WP Central is only good for the forums.

It hasn't been published on the store yet and WPC would usually provide a link in the article. Give them time.

You expect wpc to break this type of news.

Yes, when there's some actual news. Too many times we've heard about some app landing in the store today and it never materializes. When Vine shows up in the Store, that's news.

Because the writers here usually wait to use the app and actually write some information up. Not just copy and paste.

Exactly. But who knows, it might appear any minute or hour today. Everyone's just gotta be patient. I do hope other major app releases come as November 22nd nears. :D

"wpcentral writers are bunch of loosers, they've reported that Vine is coming few minutes after wmpoweruser did. I would dismiss them all, but firstly they should make an article and apologize us for their incompetence!!!...........," Seriously? Get a life... ;)

Hah, get a grip, dude. WPC is the best and single most accurate source on WP news in the world. They've broken multiple stories, waiting a few minutes to post about Vine doesn't make a difference. Vine broke the news on their blog first, big deal.

WPC is the most reliable website for WP news that I've come across.. They verify the authenticity of the news before posting them, whereas many other websites go on and on about absurd rumors..

Who cares? If you're not a day trader, then news should primarily be accurate, not fast. WPC has a great track record for fact checking what they report on. I'd prefer it stay that way. I'll gladly wait half a day longer to get content that is worth reading. If you want fast trash, there are plenty of other sites to choose from (you named a few).

Don't screw up WPC by asking them to report on things that have not happened yet. You're expectations would make WPC worse for everyone.

There is totally a store link too! But it is working yet. Someone else try it? get.vine.co it redirects you.

Doesn't matter, the Vine app sucks. It's super laggy, doesn't allow you to turn off AutoPlay, and overall 6sec provides a much better experience!

The news from those other sites was accurate... <snipped> Fanboys are fun! lol

Okay, one more time, just for you...

Reporting on what will probably happen tomorrow is a waste of time, particularly when it comes to software, where a last minute bug-discovery can instantly lead to course reversals. Those sites may have been accurate this time, but next time they might not be. That is the price that must be paid whenever a reporter's primary journalistic tool is their crystal ball! Not even when the app is released to the store do I necessarily want to read about it. Not before it has been looked at, and at least briefly tested, would I consider an article about any app worth my time. Sites blurting out whatever they can get their hands on (most often press releases and marketing materials directly from the people who want to sell you something)... that we have enough of. We don't need WPC to become just as bad as the others.

Calling people that disagree with you "fanboys" is a poor defence tactic, and in this case also rather pathetic. This has little to do with my interest in WP or WPC. This is about what journalism is and what it should be.
