When I first got my 950 I was elated finding VoiceType and I loved using it in Messaging and OneNote.
After a day or two it was gone, along with the microphone symbol.
How can I reactivate it?

BTW, always a Nokia lover, after my great 925 I find the 950 SUPERB Well Done MS !!!!

This happened to me as well, about two weeks ago. I had to do a factory reset to get it back. I have no idea what caused it, but fortunately it hasn't happened again since.

Well, I did the factory reset but still the TTS (Text To Speech) is still missing from my 950's apps like OneNote.... ....... What next?

Check Settings--> Privacy -->Speech, Inking & Typing. Check whether the button reads "Stop getting to know me" OR "Get to know me". If it is later, the voice dictation will not be available. Click on it and you should get the voice dictation back. Happened to me once.
Hope this helps.

Mine was 'Stop Geting to know me' so I clicked on it, rebooted and still no microphone to Speech To Type, in OneNote. Changed back to 'Get to Know me' rebooted, still no good.

Could it be that I bought the 950 in Europe and using in in Greece, but the only way to enable Cortana was to switch to US region with English US language? My default language is English US but I also have Greek added. Just a thought

I'm confused, when I first got the phone, TTS was available and it was most helpful!

region and language has to match. also check if you have the correct k-board.

happen to me with other than 950 to realize the k-board was set to England while the rest was set to US

YES !!!!!!! :excited:RESOLVED !!!!!!!!! First I checked the Languages where besides Greek, I found both English UK and English US enabled . I removed English UK, but that did not work. Then I checked Settings/Keyboard/More Keyboard Settings and there I found a button with the the option ''Show the Dictation Button'. It was unchecked so I checked it and EUREKA !!!!!! the microphone now appears above the keyboard, and when I press it I can finally SPEAK instead of fumbling with the keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Alain_A and Krishna for paving the way!

Does your dictation button show in both English(US) and Greek? Mine only shows in English and not in Dutch.

It shows up and can be used to dictate only in English and dissapears in the Greek K-board. I dont think MS will ever make it available in Greek, too small of a market to make it worth for them. For Dutch I have no idea, I wonder if they have it for German or French, it would be an indication anyway.
