VPN Client ? Why openvpn client ?

Windows Central Question

In terms of VPN ( open VPN ) is a VPN service. And it has a vpn client which used to connect to vpn server. My question is other VPN provider also use the openvpn client.
Why ? only thing is necessary is CA file.
is this because this client software is perfect in term of the communication and uses encryption ?

OpenVPN is free and open source, so it's embedded in many products that may want to allow for VPN access. For instance, the popular router firmware DD-WRT offers OpenVPN, because it's easier to implement OpenVPN than it would be to try to write their own VPN software. And there is already OpenVPN software clients for nearly every platform that a user would need.

OpenVPN acts as the base for other VPN programs to use because it is open source. However many people prefer a commercial VPN like Nord or ExpressVPN because they can be more polished, have more features and be easier to use.
