VZN Backup Assistant Plus on WP8 has issues. I have a ticket in with VZN Tech Support (sigh) since a couple of weeks ago. Found out last night that exact same ticket was entered late last year ... and NO resolution as of yet. Basically, VZN techs are clueless to the problem ... which is:
Got a new Nokia Lumia Icon 10 day ago - great so far. Replaced my LG enV Touch !
VZN store restored my 'existing' contact list from BUA - created from LG enV Touch.
Apparently, BUA had not been working for some time on LG - as I discovered downloaded list was OLD.
Went directly to VZN Corp store, and they manually ported contacts from LG to Icon via their machine. Good to go.
Fortunately, that method STILL works!
Later, I tried a manual sync using BUA Plus (built in app on Icon).
Online at VZN site ... contact list did show correct date/time I did sync from Icon, BUT ... it was STILL the OLD list.
Apparently, according to VZN 'tech' ... it's still using an 'old profile'. WTF ?
Bottom Line: BUA Plus is *not* backing up the contact list on my Icon. 8 days an NO resolution or clue from VZN.
Good News: Doesn't really matter, because I will be setting up Office/Outlook 365 in this phone, as I have an O365 E3 account already.
Also ... the built in 'backup' app (not to be confused with the built in Backup Assistant Plus app) ... apparently backs up the contact list, as well as 'app list and settings', although that was not initially clear.
