WD My Passport 1st used in Win 7 with Norton. Now Win 10

[Windows Central Question]

What should I use as an application since Norton xxx does not work with Win 10. The system has the availability to use Win 7, but it will not complete backup since May 2016. I have deleted some of the older backups and there is enough space. What do you suggest?

Windows Defender. Keep Malwarebytes on the side for deeper scans and stay away from attack sites which most modern browsers will warn you of before navigating there.
