I've had the 1520 since 7/7 but today Was my first full day with it.
I have the an unlocked AT&T version of L920 and I have to say the size making it something you have to get use to. Every time I reach in my pocket I expect to feel a 920 then I realize its a 1520 and I have to widen my grip.
I'm using tmobile USA on this phone as I had been on the 920. Now the 920 does not have the 1700 band for AWS but in my area 1900 was reformed so I was able to get 4G as well as LTE. With the 1520.3 that has the 1700 band I was hoping for a more dramatic improvement being on tmobile's native band but I didn't see that. I really didn't see any difference in the signal level between the two phones.
I still have windows 8.0 on the 1520 as I not sure I will keep the phone yet. My 920 I did put the developers windows 8.1 on it.
About the only thing this phone has going for it is battery life (way better than my L920) and of course the larger screen making it easier to read and watch videos etc.
As for capacity I have around 18gig free on my 920 and mucmore on the 1520 at this time.
I have not taken or placed calls on the phone yet. I want to keep the call meter to 0 in case I return it.
WiFi performance I watched shows on Netflix and I noticed that the video quality changed every so often to clean to blurry, on my 920 it does not do that. Hulu/youtube seemed to play fine though. Audio from built in speaker is very good with no distortion that I can notice.
I did get a case for it the mpero impact xl with kickstand case because it was cheap and I wanted to protect the phone from droppage and dust. Yes this case has flaps that cover the headphone and usb ports. I don't know why but the phones I have seems to attract dust. Don't know if this a chronic problem with others? my dust problems always seem to be from pants pockets.
If I could sell my 920 then I would probably keep the 1520 but I can't say at this time that the wow I got when I got the 920 is the same wow for the 1520.
I use my dell venue pro 8 tablet alot with watching movies and reading forums and emails etc. I generally leave the tablet at home and having the 1520 for those functions away from home would certainty be a better experience than my 920. At this point now that I have my hands on the 1520 being first full day with it I'm on the fence about keeping it or returning it and just getting a power pack to carry around with my L920.
That's all for now. Look forward to comments suggestions things to try. Thanks.
