What do you do when your phone is or was broken?

A small question I'm asking just to see what people usually do with a broken phone, anything goes by the definition of broken, cracked screen, phone not booting up, battery dying at a ridiculous rate, OS errors, buttons that do not work anymore etc....

I guess I've just been lucky, since I've never had a broken smartphone so far.
