What is the best laptop to buy for under 800$?

I want to buy a new laptop for 800$ can extend upto a 1000$. I looked into the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with the skylake processors, can you provide your thoughts on that laptop? Need the laptop for programming and gaming. Broadwell or skylake processors recommended. 8gb ram recommended.

That's subjective.

A few months ago I wanted a business-class hybrid with a pen, I got a ThinkPad Yoga (1st gen) for ~$800. Its durable, has a pen, meets my needs but it has older hardware.

The computer you were linked to has a discrete GPU, a definite step up.

I would think about what you value since there are always tradeoffs. My model can't have a discrete GPU in it but its compact and that's OK with me. The next guy may want a desktop replacement, which this isn't quite.

I personally would plug a Dell Latitude or Lenovo ThinkPad.
