What is the difference between the wireless charging in the 925 and the 1020?

Obviously the 925 has three pins where the 1020 only has 2, and the coil has to be shorter for the 1020 because of the camera. But, aside from that, does everything work the same? I don't really know what the pins do so if you just had the coil without the case could you make the same coil have two or three pins out? I'm trying to figure basically how Nokia's charging cases work, but I can't find a teardown online.

Probably different cases, different phone, same feature.

The samsung Galaxy s3 and s4 does also have two connectors. Perhaps the extra connector adds an extra circuit / coil for extra charging?

I agree but I'm not gonna buy a case solely for the purpose of destroying it on my budget.
