waiting for update on nokia 928 to 8.1. microsoft stores keep saying soon, but that has been months ago.

Actually it says it's under testing according to here - Availability in North America - Nokia

Unfortunately MS has no control over whether Verizon will release the update or not or when.

Hey, I'm a CrackBerry guy trying to help a co-worker out, but I'm not used to this Mobile Nations forum.
I saw a thread about a 928 on VZW that already had the 8.1 update which tells me there is a way to update without an official carrier release, much like us Crack(berry) Heads do - Could someone kindly point me to a thread? The good ol' search feature isn't finding much...
