What just happened to my phone?

All of a sudden my app list has an alphabetical category




When I got my phone there was none of that " a, b, c" category. How do I go back to that

Select the headlining letter. Then it will bring that back up.

I think its because you have 40+ apps on your phone.

Correct. Once you are past 45 apps this alphabetical categorization is implemented.

There is no way to disable it.

It is really handy to have those letter shortcuts like in the contacts app.
Perhaps MS should notify the user when they pass the 45+ app mark just to tell them the phone will switch the letter shortcuts on.

I thought it was a pain too but, after you hit the 45, it does that...I find it easier to find apps with it...just hit the top letter, all the letters will come up, hit the one for the app you want and it will jump right to it.
