I had a similar background runaway process with Internet Explorer a little while back, the bad part being you can't control system apps running in background.
A soft reset should do the trick

Battery saver app shows the usage of the apps depends on the others.
The other apps used a small quantity of battery when compared to the phone calls.
You will notice changes in the next coming weeks

Agreed. Had this once in June, soft reset cleared it.
