Whatsapp calls disconnecting

Just started using whatsapp for the first time and I have a problem with calls to the UK. For some reason the calls get disconnected once the other person answers and also when I get a call from that person and try to answer, call is dropped immediately. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve? Thanks.
