WhatsApp for People Hub?

I was wondering why Microsoft shouldn't provide an account for WhatsApp in People Hub so that it could change the contact images by self just the same way Facebook contacts gets synchronised.

Technically it is possible now. Whatsapp only need to make use of the new APIs in WP8.1. It's up to them now.

Considering the attention they use to give WP and the pace in which they update their app for it, we're gonna see this feature in late 2016. If ever.
