whatsapp is eating more then 1.5 GB internal storage

hi, i am using lumia 730, it has 8 GB internal space but almost all of it is being used by system and whatsapp only. whatsapp eating up 1.77 gb. please give some idea to det rid off it.

1. Easiest way - uninstall then reinstall WA.
2. Not so sufficient but - delete all chats that aren't important. That will delete all share media files with person X
